The Bemus Point-Stow Ferry has been crossing Chautauqua Lake since 1811. And The Ferry is almost done for the season. ⛵
The Ferry is one of the last cable-guided ferries in the country. Seven minutes across the narrows of Chautauqua Lake connecting two shores that have depended on each other for over two centuries.
For some people a ride on The Ferry is a generational memory. Something their grandparents did and their parents did and now they do with their kids on a summer afternoon. For others it is the first time and the seven minutes feel like stepping into a different era entirely.
Either way The Ferry is FREE 🆓
Just bring a donation to support this piece of living history.

Running Friday through Sunday Noon to 8 PM through the end of the season. The Ferry closes after Fall Fest weekend in September.

One week from today the streets of Bemus Point will be lined with over 70 vendors. 🍂
Handmade jewelry. Original artwork. Baked goods. Home decor. Kettle corn. Fall food specials at the restaurants. Live music. The Classic Car Cruise-In. The Beer Garden at the Bemus Point Golf Club & Tap House. Draw-a-Leaf discounts at participating shops throughout the village. Open Houses. And the final weekend to ride the Bemus Point-Stow Ferry before it closes for the 2026 season.
This is Bemus Point doing what it does best: bringing everyone together to kick off the fall season.

There is nothing quite like it.
There is something about September on Chautauqua Lake that stops you in your tracks.
The foliage comes in and suddenly the hills around the lake are every shade of orange, gold, and red.
The sunsets stretch out even longer and they hit with the same colors as the trees.
Youth football on the field. Bills fans and Steelers fans somehow cheering side by side. 🏈
Crisp air. The kind of weekend that feels like a deep exhale.
🍂 And then there is Fall Fest.
September 18th through 20th.
The streets of Bemus Point line up with vendors near and far. The shops are open. The restaurants are rolling out fall specials.
The whole village gathers together for one final celebration before the season turns.
It is equal parts goodbye to summer and the warmest welcome to fall you have ever been part of.

A helicopter dropping golf balls for a $10,000 prize. Live music all weekend long. One last fireworks night with your people. The Farmers Market Friday morning. A golf cart shuttle to get you everywhere you need to be. Ice cream because summer isn’t over yet. Local shops filled with things you didn’t know you needed. One last ferry crossing before she closes for the season.
This is Labor Day weekend in Bemus Point. September 5th through 7th.
The end of summer deserves a proper send off.
