Locally owned boutiques, handcrafted goods, art, pottery, and specialty shops, all within walking distance of the lake in Bemus Point, NY.
Bemus Point has a small but well-stocked collection of independent shops along Main Street and in the surrounding village. Most are open seasonally, with a handful open year-round.
You’ll find hand-thrown pottery, locally crafted furniture, clothing boutiques, children’s gifts, and alpaca fiber goods. The shop owners are part of the community and know their customers by name.
Spend an afternoon walking through the village, stopping into a few shops, and ending the day by the lake.
A working alpaca farm and gift shop located just outside Bemus Point, open April 15 through January 15 and by appointment. Alpacaville sells alpaca yarn, clothing, blankets, and accessories made from their on-site herd. Visitors are welcome to meet the animals.
A pottery studio and shop open May through November in Bemus Point. Bemus Point Pottery sells hand-thrown and handcrafted ceramic pieces made locally, including mugs, bowls, vases, and sculptural works.

A women’s clothing boutique on Main Street, open May through October. GI Threads carries clothing, footwear, accessories, gifts, and home décor, including brands like Alo Yoga, Barefoot Dreams, Dolce Vita, Steve Madden, and Mudpie.
A seasonal shop open May through November in Bemus Point. Petals & Twigs carries custom floral and faux flower arrangements, garden accessories, resort wear, wall art, home décor, men’s gifts, and children’s books, toys, and accessories.
A Bemus Point institution since 1908. With three floors of shopping on Main Street, Skillmans carries apparel and footwear for women and men, artisan jewelry, home accents, gourmet food and wine accessories, books, and a dedicated kids’ room with puzzles, books, and games. Open seven days a week.
Stone & Outdoor Living Center in Bemus Point carries landscape stone, outdoor furniture, hardscape materials, and outdoor living products for local property owners and lake home projects.
The Ugly Peacock is a boutique in Bemus Point carrying a mix of gifts, accessories, and home goods.

The Bemus Point-Stow Ferry has been crossing Chautauqua Lake since 1811. And The Ferry is almost done for the season. ⛵
The Ferry is one of the last cable-guided ferries in the country. Seven minutes across the narrows of Chautauqua Lake connecting two shores that have depended on each other for over two centuries.
For some people a ride on The Ferry is a generational memory. Something their grandparents did and their parents did and now they do with their kids on a summer afternoon. For others it is the first time and the seven minutes feel like stepping into a different era entirely.
Either way The Ferry is FREE 🆓
