VILLAGE STORY

About Bemus Point

Bemus Point is the kind of place people find through word of mouth. A friend who spent a summer here, a family that has been coming back for decades, a traveler who stopped in once and kept returning.

The village sits at the midpoint of Lake Chautauqua, a 17-mile lake in the rolling hills of western New York. About three hours from Pittsburgh and Cleveland, an hour and fifteen minutes from Buffalo, and seven hours from New York City. The tagline “Meet Us in the Middle” isn’t just geography. It’s an invitation.

What keeps people coming back is the kind of thing that’s hard to describe. The independent restaurants where the owner knows your name. The shops run by people who live here year-round. The ferry that has been crossing the lake since the 1870s. The festivals that fill the streets with neighbors and visitors who quickly become familiar faces.

Bemus Point is a real village with real businesses owned by real people. The community takes that seriously, and it shows in how the place feels when you spend time there.

Bemus Point NY feels relaxing and peaceful, great for spending time near the water at sunset with friends and family.

Most businesses sell you a product and send you on your way.
The Stone and Outdoor Living Center in Bemus Point does something different.

Since 2013 they have built a showroom that is far more than a retail store.
Natural and manufactured stone. Pavers and hardscapes.
Green Egg grills with every accessory and spice you need to make your cookout legendary. Large live displays so you can actually see what you are building before you build it.

But what makes the Stone Center stand out in Bemus Point is how they invest in the people who use their products. Architects. Designers. Builders. Contractors.
Through educational clinics, how-to builds, and hands-on resources, they have created a space where the trades community grows together.

And every Friday their crew and the contractors who rely on them gather for lunch.
That kind of culture does not happen at most businesses. It happens here because they built it intentionally.

This is what a business that genuinely cares about its community looks like.

And that community spirit will be on full display at their 8th Annual Barbecue in Bemus EggFest on Saturday, August 15 from 11 AM–3 PM at Bemus Point Golf Club & Tap House. The afternoon will feature food hot off the EGGs, live music from OsbornNash, a Big Green Egg giveaway and more, all while raising funds for Majengo Children’s Home.

☀️ Some summers you go through the motions.
And some summers you actually feel them.

Boating across Chautauqua Lake at sunset.
Sharing a pizza with your people.
The ice cream line that is somehow always worth the wait.
A long lunch that turns into the whole afternoon.
A patio with a lake view and absolutely nowhere to be.
Shopping at the local boutiques.
Finding your crowd somewhere in the village and not wanting the night to end.

That is what a Bemus Point summer feels like.
The kind that stays with you long after the season ends.
