“Light Up The Point” Community Event to Illuminate Bemus Point, NY, on Saturday, November 30th
BEMUS POINT, NY – The holiday season is fast approaching, and the Bemus Point Business Association is thrilled to announce a celebration that brings the community together in the spirit of joy and holiday cheer. “Light Up The Point” will take place on Saturday, November 30th, offering a festive and memorable day for residents and visitors alike.
This community event is designed to foster holiday spirit and support Bemus Point’s local businesses. The day’s highlight will be a community parade along Main Street, followed by the village’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
HOLIDAY MARKET & COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
From noon to 7 PM, visitors can enjoy a charming Holiday Market in the Skillmans/EBC parking lot, featuring a variety of vendors, including a crowd favorite—kettle corn. Additionally, our local school will be decorating Christmas trees, which will be displayed along Lakeside Drive for all to admire. Visitors can stroll along and vote for their favorite decorated tree, adding a fun, interactive element to the festivities.
Throughout the day, businesses and residents will be adorning their storefronts with lights and decorations, enhancing the festive atmosphere. Local businesses will also host special activities to make the holiday experience even more delightful:
- Make Tree Ornaments from 12-4PM at Lakeside Arts & Furniture
- Pony Rides, Hair Tinseling, Cupcake Decorating & More at Rock Marine. Sweet Lolita’s Cupcakes & Sweet Treats will also be on site…it’s soon to be their new location!
- Decorating Christmas Cookies at Lake Life Cafe
- Children’s Christmas Crafts from 12-3PM followed by Story Time with Mrs. Claus at the Bemus Point Library
- Open House at the Bemus Point Historical Society from 11AM-3PM
- Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides begin at Noon
- Photo Opportunity – be an Elf in Santa’s Workshop at The Ugly Peacock
- Meet & Greet with Santa Claus after the parade and tree lighting!
SHOP LOCAL ON SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
This year, “Light Up The Point” falls on Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to celebrating and supporting small, local businesses. Shopping and dining locally makes a real difference to everyone in our Chautauqua County community. Each purchase supports locally owned businesses, helping to create jobs, strengthen local services, and keep our area vibrant and thriving. By choosing to shop and dine locally, visitors and residents alike contribute to the charm, traditions, and future of Chautauqua County. This holiday season, let’s show our support for the businesses that make our region so special!
KEEP THE CHEER HERE! SHOP & DINE IN BEMUS POINT
Visitors can enjoy seasonal shopping with special offers and unique gifts throughout the village. The Ugly Peacock will have a special sale on Friday and Saturday, with 20-50% off select items, offering distinctive gifts perfect for the holiday season. Bemus Point Pottery and their neighbors at Petals & Twigs Gifts and Children’s Shoppe will be open Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30, for an end-of-season sale. Shoppers can enjoy 30% off with card/check payments and 50% off with cash (some exceptions apply). November 30th will be their last open day of the year. Skillmans will also be kicking off their Holiday Sale with great deals on men’s and women’s clothing and gift items.
Be sure to stop by Lakeside Arts & Furniture – they offer a wonderful variety of merchandise, from handcrafted art pieces to unique home decor and thoughtful holiday gifts. Visitors can also book a festive Holiday Paint and Sip party, adding a creative touch to their holiday season with friends and family. Additionally, Treasures on Main will be having a “Going Out of Business Sale,” so be sure to stop in for final deals on unique holiday items.
Looking for a unique experience? Alpacaville will be open for visitors to meet certified therapy alpacas and browse their Alpaca-themed gifts and accessories.
The Lawson Center will also be open from 3-5PM before the parade, welcoming visitors to explore their rich collection of boating history and heritage. The museum’s shop will feature a fine selection of merchandise, including a brand-new line of sweatshirts. Many items will be marked down 20%-50%, making it the perfect opportunity to pick up unique holiday gifts while supporting a beloved local institution.
Local restaurants will be joining in the festivities, offering seasonal dishes and treats to keep visitors warm and energized as they explore Bemus Point. Bemus Point Inn Restaurant, Guppy’s Restaurant & Tavern, Lake Life Café, Bemus Point Golf Club & Tap House, Coppola’s Pizzeria, 14 Main, and The Green Door Tavern will all be open for the event. On Sunday, December 1st, Bemus Point Golf Club & Tap House will continue the holiday spirit with a special shopping bazaar. Don’t miss their “One Stop Christmas Shop” from noon to 3 PM.
LIGHT UP THE POINT PARADE
Saturday will culminate in the Light Up The Point Parade at 5 PM, which we encourage everyone to join! Visitors are encouraged to wear their holiday best and join the fun—decorated golf carts and cars are welcome, so bring your light up gear and glow sticks!
Parade participants should gather at the lineup areas by 4:45 PM: children at the bus garage and decorated cars and golf carts at the golf course. The parade will proceed down Main Street and end at the intersection of Lakeside Drive and Main Street, where attendees will gather with Santa Claus for caroling and the lighting of the Village Tree.
