Bemus Point is a small lakefront village on the shores of Chautauqua Lake in Western New York, sitting across the water from the world-famous Chautauqua Institution. Spend a morning browsing the village shops, grab lunch at one of the locally owned restaurants, and make your way down to the lake to take in the view. Ride the Bemus Point-Stow Ferry, one of the oldest operating ferries in the region, for a few minutes on the water and a look at the lake from a different angle. In the evening, stay for the sunset over Bemus Bay.

Just outside the village, a small farm sits in the hills with owners who greet you like they have been expecting you. Suri alpacas, mini pigs, chickens, and a gift shop full of handmade fiber goods made right from the herd.
The farm is certified in animal assisted therapy and has welcomed school-aged children all the way through elderly visitors from across the region.
It is the kind of afternoon that works on everyone differently and leaves people quieter and happier than when they arrived.

A Bemus Point institution for more than 25 years, The Village Casino has been bringing live music to the waterfront since 1980 and remains one of the best places to spend a summer evening on Chautauqua Lake.

The 4th of July in Bemus Point just feels different.
